The Palm Jebel Ali
The development of the Palm Jumeirah was unquestionably a world first, bewildering enough to attract
international marvel and administration. But, as always, the project developer, Nakheel has surpassed
beyond what was already inconceivable.
By 2008, The Palm Jebel Ali is expected to be complete, measuring a colossal 15.5km crescent scaling 12
km and the overall Palm sizing 40% larger that the already vast and very successful The Palm, Jumeirah.
The creation shaped as a palm tree complete with a trunk (encompassing the region's primary "Sea
Village" sea aquarium and underwater homes reminiscent of a submarine style allowing residents and
guests to gaze at the alluring marine wildlife and even dive among it) plus 17 individual Fronds and a
Crescent, which forms the islands breakwater.
Following unprecedented demand for properties on the Palm Jumeirah, The Palm Jebel Ali is offering even
more of theses luxury freehold properties; The Palm Jumeirah's prominent garden homes, signature villas
and townhouses will feature on the second Palm. Boardwalk access to parking and private mooring will be
a part of all 1,060 water homes on the islands 12 km chain situated conveniently between the crescent and
the fronds. The 4-bedroom water home is each ideally set 8 - 10 meters over the clear lapping waters of the
picturesque Arabian Gulf.
A little further off the Arabian Peninsula, the crescent itself is carefully designed to provide access for boats
to enter and is adorned with six attractively modelled marinas making every part of the island a wonder to

Overview:
The Palm Islands in Dubai are the three largest artificial islands in the world, being constructed by Nakheel
Properties in the United Arab Emirates. Each settlement will be in the shape of a palm tree, topped with a
crescent, and will have residential communities and resorts built upon them. It is possible to make these
islands due to the wide continental shelf off the Dubai coast, and the relatively shallow depth of the Persian
Gulf.
The islands were designed as part of the plan to develop tourism in Dubai against the eventual depletion
of the emirate's oil reserves, which are expected to be depleted in the second decade of the 21st century.
The goal is to become one of the biggest areas in the world for tourism as a means of diversifying the
economy.
